365 Day 160

Saturday, March 20th, 2010

Camera: iPhone App: Hipstamatic

A new look and a new commitment. I have missed taking a picture a day, but I have not missed the posting side of things.  This time around I am going to take the picture everyday but not have to have it up that day. I however can not let it go 5,6,7 or more days without posting. I have heard it said and am a believer that a 365 project will kick your butt, this time around I plan on keeping it in control and not letting it take control of me. No more postings at 1 in the morning.

This picture was a bit of a surprise when I looked at it. I was trying to take a picture of my son and me but obviously hit the button while flipping the camera around to shoot back at us, but I really like it not sure why I just do.

Heres to recommitting. Have you let something you enjoy go, well pick it back up but figure out how to make it work into your life and not work your life into it.

tasra365 and discipline

What is tasra365, It is a year long, one photo a day project with a little added work.  Tasra was challenged by Scoot Bourne to “shoot 1 image a day for a year and improve her photography 300%” in addition, read one page in her camera manual , and view other professional photographers images every day too. Not only did Tasra take the challenge but she invited other photographers to follow and participate as well.

I have decided to participate but to change it up a bit.  My main focus is not going to be the photography, a lot if not most my shots will be with my iphone, but it is going to be on building self discipline.  I have been reading on this subject the last little bit and one thing I read from quite a few different places is: If you want to increase your discipline then pick one small thing and do it everyday and by doing this you will increase your self discipline and then bigger changes will just start to happen.  So I figure why not use the picture a day challenge to start the ball rolling.  What better way to work on something like discipline then with something I love, photography.
